Regatta Sailing Academy offer’s RYA Powerboat Level 1, Level 2 and Safety boat certificate.
The Level 1 powerboat course can be done from age 8 and up. Students will learn how to launch and recover the boat, how to prepare the boat and crew, how to manoeuvre the boat and basic boat handling skills.
The Level 2 powerboat course can be done from age 12 and up. This course covers practical skills and some basic navigation and theoretical knowledge over 2 days. This can be on our own 6.5 metre RIB or on your own boat should you choose. For those of you with sufficient experience and knowledge, we offer you the opportunity to attain this qualification through simple examination, where you can demonstrate your hard won skills to our instructors.
The safety boat course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities.
