International Award
Regatta Sailing Academy are very proud of our work with the International Award which is the global version of the Duke Of Edinburgh award.
The International Award aims to provide young adults with the skills for life and work.
Consisting of four sections and three levels, the young adults must complete a number of hours volunteering, learning new skills, taking part in physical recreation and undertake an adventurous journey. The candidates start with their Bronze award then progress onto Silver and Gold.

It’s a continual training programme where the young adults will learn how to sail from the basics, building up to their adventurous journey where they are accompanied by a highly experienced yachtmaster, but will be expected to organise themselves to navigate appropriately and safely, look after themselves as a team and sail the boat efficiently whilst enjoying the amazing joys of being away from land.
The International award is recognised as an extracurricular programme that looks great on CV’s and can help open the door to many opportunities in the future. It’s not everywhere that you have the opportunity to sail 120miles across the Arabian Gulf!
